⚠️ Requirements

Before publishing a webcast video feed, you must have sent your Vonage details to our support team.

Camera Feed Information

  • Webcast can only be published using Chrome – other browsers are not supported

  • Internet Explorer is not compatible with WebRTC (only limited support in Windows 7/8 with plugin)

Public View Note

A Webcast will not appear on the public front end until the auction reaches its start time. You can start the Webcast manually before the set time by following these steps.

Steps to Begin to Video Stream

  1. Go to the Auction Controls & Stream Settings tab

  2. On the Live Stream section, set:

    • Feed Provider to WebRTC (HTML5 streaming)

    • Feed Type to Video

The Run Test button will disappear once 'Video' is selected, as it's no longer needed.

  3. Click Send
You should see a confirmation that the WebRTC feed is configured but no streams are currently being published

  4. Click Start Publishing to begin your stream
    (To stop, click Stop Publishing)

  5. When prompted by your browser, click Allow to grant access to your camera and microphone

  6. You might also see a red dot in your browser's tab to confirm your stream is live

Public View (Front End)

Once streaming:

  • A video box appears on the right-hand side of the public auction page (above the lots). Users can choose to show/hide the video box, but should still hear the audio.

If you're streaming audio only, a black placeholder box will appear in place of the video.

To Change Cameras or Microphones

Each device is different, but you should be able to click the Camera icon in your browser’s address bar (once streaming has started) to choose a different camera or microphone from the dropdown list, if available

After the Webcast's finished

  • Once your webcast's finished and you're ready to stop streaming, click on Stop Publishing and then Remove Feed

⚠️ Important:
Always remove your feed after finishing the webcast to prevent unintended ongoing broadcasting (which could incur costs)
