The start time for a Webcast auction is initially set when you create the auction.

Before the Webcast Starts

Until the set start date and time is reached, you can set the auction to remain in Pre-Bidding mode. If this is enabled, the auction will behave like a Timed auction until the Webcast begins, allowing competitive bidding (including Max Bid or Commission Bid).

To get the webcast started, you may either:

  • Let the auction automatically enter Webcast phase at the scheduled start time,
    or

  • Manually start the auction before the scheduled time.

⚠️ Please Note:
Once you start the auction manually, the start button will no longer be visible. You cannot start the auction again.

How to Start the Auction Manually

  1. Log into the admin site

  2. Go to Auctions & Items > View Auctions on the left-side menu

  3. Locate your auction in the list

    • If it doesn’t appear, click Modify Filter to adjust your search settings

  4. On the relevant auction, click on the Three-dotted button > Webcast

  5. On the webcast screen, go to the Auction Controls & Stream Settings tab

  6. Click the green Start Auction button

  7. The auction will then move into Webcast phase, ready for the first item to be put into the ring
