Items can be set to Preview mode so that all details are visible to your bidders, but bidding is not yet allowed. This is useful if you want to showcase items before bidding starts β€” especially for individual lots where you may want tighter control of the bidding start date.

For help with controlling the bidding start time itself, see How to Display Auctions Before Bidding Starts

To Set Items to Preview

  1. Go to Auctions & Items > View Auctions, then click on your auction name

  2. Navigate to the Items tab

  3. Check the status of your items:

  4. If your items are in Draft:

    • Select the items you want to move to Preview

    • Click Validate

    • Items will now be in hidden Preview (with a crossed eye symbol to the right):

  5. To show items on the public site:

    • Select the Preview items

    • Click Make Visible

    • Items will now display in visible Preview:

What Bidders See

Once in visible Preview mode, your items will appear on your public site as below and based on your auctioneer settings, including item title, description, images, and other details; but no bidding will be allowed until the item is Live.
