When uploading items to BidJS, there are several purchase options you can apply depending on how you’d like users to engage with your lots or listings.
Most Common Purchase Options
The three most frequently used purchase options are:
NONE
BUY_NOW
MAKE_OFFER
Other options, such as TENDER and TRANSFER, are also available, but each item type has its own set of compatible purchase options. Be sure to check what’s valid for your item before saving.
How to Enter/Edit a Purchase Option...
When Creating an Item
Fill in the Purchase Option column.
Complete any required supporting fields.
If you enter something invalid, the field will turn red and an error icon will appear. Hover your cursor over the icon for a couple of seconds to read the message.
👉 Note: You must fix any errors before the item can be saved (unless it’s in Ghost status).
When Bulk Creating Items
Go to Auctions & Items > Create New Items.
Download a blank spreadsheet from that screen.
Enter your data in the Purchase Option column.
Complete any other required fields, depending on your chosen option.
👉 Note: Just like with individual entries, any invalid cells will be marked red with an error icon on upload — and these must be resolved before saving (unless using Ghost status).
For an Existing Item
Go to Auctions & Items > View Auctions.
Click on the title of your auction.
Select the Items button in the top menu.
Tick the box next to the item you'd like to update.

With the item in Draft status and still highlighted, click Bulk Edit.
Scroll right to the Purchase Option column and select your desired option (e.g.
MAKE_OFFER
).(Optional) Add a Purchase Price if needed.
Click Save And Finish.
Re-approve the item by ticking the box next to it again, then clicking Approve > Confirm.
Purchase Option Types
NONE
No purchase method is available.
For Lots, users will only see a bid button.
For Listings, no purchase actions will be displayed at all.
BUY_NOW
Adds a Buy Now button to the item (available for both Lots and Listings). This allows a user to immediately purchase the item.
Purchases made via Buy Now are shown in the Bid Table.
MAKE_OFFER
Adds a Make Offer button to the item (also valid for Lots and Listings).
Bidders can submit up to three offers per item, which can then be reviewed and accepted or rejected by the auctioneer.
After placing an offer, the user sees a pop-up confirming it’s pending.
They can track their offers by clicking:
The "You have 1 pending offer" button, or
The Make Offer button again, which brings up a history of their offers and their statuses.
🔔 Admins can be notified of incoming offers via email. Contact [email protected] to add your team members to this notification list.
Managing Offers in the Admin Panel
When logged into the admin area, any pending offers appear in the Actions Required table.
To view and manage offers:
Go to Auctions & Items > View Auctions.
Locate the auction and click the Offer Table button in the three-dot menu
You can also access this from within the auction by clicking the Offer Table button at the top menu.

.

From here, you can:
View active bids and offers.
